From the Medicines Complete homepage you will see links to the 6 titles we subscribe to.

Alternatively all 6 titles are listed in the Library catalogue and you can link directly to the relevant title from there (make sure you have Set LJMU as your institution) .

Some of our electronic resource providers have created moblie versions of their search interfaces:

Ebscohost provide a number of our journals databases such as Academic Search Complete and Business Source Complete - you can get through to the full text of article using the mobile version.

IEEE Xplore delivers full text access to the world's highest quality technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics - the mobile version gives you 10 articles for your search, you can read the abstracts and are able to email a link to the full article to yourself.Both mobile versions are available from the Database A-Z and should work on most mobile devices.

PubMed was developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). It was developed in conjunction with publishers of biomedical literature as a search tool for accessing literature citations and linking to full-text journals at web sites of participating publishers.

Financial Times Historical Archives, 1886-2006 - A complete searchable facsimile run of the world's most authoritative daily business newspaper. Every article and advertisement ever printed in the paper can be searched and browsed individually and page by page.

New Resource - Law

We are pleased to announce that we have purchased the Law module of Oxford Scholarship Online, which is a collection of e-books.

It is available from the Database A-Z on the Electronic Library - search for Oxford Scholarship Online - Law. On campus you do not need to log in to access the resource, off-campus you will need to log in via Athens.

The academic law list at Oxford has a strong tradition of developing exceptional work across the full breadth of legal scholarship. The publications range from the foundations of legal history and philosophy to analytic and comparative work on legal doctrine and empirical research on law in modern society.

In addition to the full text access in law it is possible to access the abstracts and keywords at book and chapter level for the other subject areas.

We have just purchased a new resource - Bibliography of British and Irish History

It's available from the Databases A-Z on the Electronic Library page. On campus you don't need to log on to access. If you want to use this off-campus you need to use our Off-Campus Applications Service.

This resource provides bibliographic data on historical writing dealing with the British Isles, and with the British Empire and Commonwealth, during all periods for which written documentation is available - from 55BC to the present. As well as providing details of publications, the Bibliography provides links to online catalogues to help you find the items that it lists in research libraries in Britain, Ireland and the USA, and it provides links to online text where available (you or your institution may need an appropriate subscription to take advantage of some of these links).

It has coverage starting from the latter part of the 19th century and features links to biographies and other related articles.

E-Library at LJMU

Welcome to the first post of the Electronic Library at LJMU. Here we'll keep you up to date with new databases, current trials and any outstanding access issues.

We are about to close for the Christmas vacation - the university closes at 4.45pm on Wednesday and re-opens on Monday 4th Jan 2010. You should still be able to access most electronic resources during this time, but do be aware that some publishers may have some downtime over the Christmas break for maintenance etc. If you are having problems accessing resources, try again later.

As we are closed our online help form will also be unavailable, however you may find the answer you need by checking out our FAQ pages.
